Established in July of 2000 and recognized by Tourisme Montréal and Tourisme Québec, the Village Tourist Information Centre (CITV) is managed by the CCGQ. Its role is to welcome tourists to Montréal while promoting Québec internationally as a tourist destination.

The Québec Gay Chamber of Commerce is the only one in Canada to have set up a government recognized tourist centre.

The CITV was created thanks to the efforts of Me Patrick Desmarais, and the first coordinator M. Michel Jutras.
